DocCare/Newtown Gastroenterology

DocCare and Newtown Gastroenterology, two established medical practices located in Queens, NY are seeking to hire a full-time, experienced Gastroenterologist to be an integral part of their teams. This is a dual reporting role working at two locations: the DocCare office in Ridgewood, NY as well as the Newtown Gastroenterology office in Elmhurst, NY. This individual will split their time 50% between the two practices. This is an outstanding opportunity for the candidate to make a difference to the patients in high-demand neighborhoods.

The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background in the diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal disorders, as well as experience in performing endoscopic procedures. The Gastroenterologist will be responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients with a variety of gastrointestinal conditions, including inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome, gastroesophageal reflux disease, and colon cancer.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive care to patients with gastrointestinal disorders.
  • Performs colonoscopy and endoscopy procedures in both locations, which is an NYS-certified Office-Based Surgery (OBS) site accredited by the Joint Commission.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as blood tests, imaging studies, and biopsies.
  • Develop and manage treatment plans for patients.
  • Educate patients about their gastrointestinal conditions and treatment options.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as surgeons, oncologists, and radiologists.

Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • MD or DO degree.
  • Board certification in Gastroenterology
  • 2+ years of clinical experience in gastroenterology
  • Experience in performing endoscopic procedures.
  • Strong clinical skills and judgment
  • BC/BE (Preferred)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Medical License (Required)
