Position description
The Department of Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine, University of California, Davis, is recruiting for a pediatric full-time Assistant/Associate or Full Professor in the Clinical X or Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing anesthesia care for pediatric and neonate patients undergoing routine and complex procedures in the UC Davis Children's Hospital operating rooms, cardiology catheterization labs and radiology suites, and participate fully in the after-hours call system. An interest in pediatric cardiac anesthesia will be accommodated with the candidate caring for patients undergoing cardiac procedures during call hours and weekends. Responsibilities will include the education of medical students, residents and fellows, and allied healthcare professionals in all areas of general, ambulatory and regional anesthesiology for pediatric patients in Northern California's only Level 1 Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center, and Level 1 Children's Surgery Center, as designated by the American College of Surgeons. The applicant will occasionally provide anesthesia services to adult patients, and a proportion of the clinical duties will involve working as solo faculty. Health Sciences Clinical Professor series faculty engage in scholarly or creative activities which derive from and support their primary responsibilities in clinical teaching and professional and service activities.

Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)
MD, DO or equivalent, eligible for a full, unrestricted California Medical License, eligible for certification by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA) in Anesthesiology and Pediatric Anesthesiology, graduation from an ACGME-approved residency program and ACGME-approved pediatric anesthesiology fellowship program. Clinical experience should include performing cardiac, general, regional and ambulatory anesthesia and pain management for pediatric and neonate patients.
Additional qualifications (required at time of start)
Individuals with several years of experience in academic pediatric anesthesiology, recent graduates from pediatric anesthesia fellowships and current fellows are all encouraged to apply.
Preferred qualifications (other preferred, but not required, qualifications for the position)
Ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment.
