The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of California, Davis, School of Medicine is seeking a physician-leader at the Associate Professor/Professor level to serve as Director of Hematopathology. This position reports directly to the Director of Clinical Pathology and will provide strategic vision and collaborative implementation to ensure the future growth of Hematopathology. The Director monitors professional billing and collection data, and works collaboratively on test menu, services, and resource requests. The Director will engage closely with training program directors and instructors of record for medical student electives and will collaborate with the department’s Clinical Research Oversight Committee. Approximately 50%-60% time will be spent in clinical duties involving hematopathology.

The successful candidate must have an M.D. or D.O. and be board certified in Anatomic, Clinical and Hematopathology. The candidate must have a minimum of seven years’ experience in a clinical or academic setting. Experience in lab management is expected. California Medical License or eligibility for licensure in California is required.

Salary range: The salary range for this position is $204,500 – $409,700.
