Director of Microbiology – Assistant/Associate/Full Professor

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at UC Davis Health School of Medicine seeks a dynamic leader to serve as the Director of Microbiology at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank, in the Professor of Clinical (X) or Health Sciences Clinical Professor (HSCP) series.
This position reports to the Director of Clinical Pathology and will provide strategic vision and collaborative implementation to grow the department’s Microbiology Division. Responsibilities include medical/scientific directorship of laboratory/division staff in collaboration with the department chair and other department section leaders, laboratory test development and validation, oversight of laboratory operations, and maintenance of licensure and accreditation. Participation in the institution's research mission is expected. Additional responsibilities will include teaching housestaff and medical students.
Applicants must possess an MD, MD/PhD, or PhD degree. MD candidates must possess board certification in CP or AP/CP and be eligible for medical licensure in California. PhD candidates must be board-certified by the American Board of Medical Microbiology (ABMM). All candidates must be US citizens or hold an employment visa.
This position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan (https://aadocs.ucdavis.edu/policies/apm/apm-670.pdf), with a salary range for this position of $157,500 - $409,700.
