RANK/TITLE:

Vice chair Associate Professor (5 - 10 years’ experience) Professor of Pathology (10 + years’ Experience) (tenure-stream)

 

DEPARTMENT/DIVISION:

The University of Pittsburgh in the Department of Pathology, Division of Experimental Pathology.

 

DESCRIPTION OF WORK:

The successful candidate will engage in innovative research to advance the application of single-cell mass spectrometry technology for single-cell proteomics and perform integrated multi-omics analysis. This technology will primarily focus on liver-related diseases within the Pittsburgh Liver Research Center. The candidate will also serve as a faculty consultant in the Health Sciences Mass Spectrometry Core, assisting with various proteomics projects and projects that would benefit from advancements in single-cell mass spectrometry analysis. As Vice Chair, the candidate will also be expected to provide leadership within the department, contributing to strategic planning, faculty development, and fostering an inclusive and collaborative research environment.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  •  PhD and/or MD/PhD in Biochemistry, Pathology, Microbiology, or a related discipline.
  • Technical expertise in mass spectrometry instrumentation, method development, and data analysis related to proteomics.
  • Experience in computational analysis and integrated multi-omics analysis is desirable.
  • Experience working with companies, beta-testing relevant instrumentation, and managing sponsoring research agreements is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills and a highly collaborative nature.
  • Proven leadership experience and an actively funded research program.

 

SALARY AND BENEFITS:

Salary will be commensurate with experience.
