The Department of Surgery at Eastern Virginia Medical School is seeking a full time academic colorectal surgeon to join its faculty in Norfolk, Virginia. The successful candidate will be a motivated, fellowship trained colorectal surgeon with experience in minimally invasive surgery. The physician will join a thriving Division of Surgical Oncology at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor. Academic surgeons and graduating fellows are encouraged to apply.
The ideal candidate will possess exceptional surgical skills and clinical judgment to build a robust colorectal program within the Division of Surgical Oncology. This is an academic appointment that requires successful candidates to be committed to patient care; the education of surgery residents, fellows and medical student; and the pursuit of research endeavors. Effective communication skills and a record of team building will be invaluable for the position. The Department will provide opportunities and mentorship to develop the candidate’s academic potential.

Responsibilities:
- Perform a full range of colorectal surgical procedures with a focus on excellence and patient safety.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Participate in teaching and mentoring medical students, residents, and fellows.
- Contribute to the advancement of medical knowledge through research and scholarly activities.
Qualifications:
- Board certification or eligibility in colorectal surgery.
- Demonstrated proficiency in colorectal surgical techniques and procedures.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
