The Department of Anesthesiology at Rutgers, New Jersey Medical School, seeks a full-time Cardiothoracic/Liver Transplant anesthesiologist for a non-tenure track position. The academic rank and administrative title will be determined based on the candidate’s qualifications. The attending anesthesiologist will work one-on-one with a senior resident in all cardiac/liver surgeries. Additionally, they will cover two operating rooms with the CRNAs/residents for non-cardiac cases.

Duties include providing on-site anesthesia services to adult patients undergoing cardiac and liver transplant surgeries at the University Hospital; intraoperative and didactic teaching of the residents; participation in Faculty Development programs; work collaboratively with the members of the surgical services both clinically and administratively; and engagement in research that forwards the discipline both academically and clinically.

Qualified applicants must: 1. Have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2. Hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the state of New Jersey, and 3. Be a BC/BE Anesthesiologist. Candidates on J-1 VISA are welcome to apply. The effective day of the appointment is September 1, 2024.

The University Hospital, a primary teaching hospital of the Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, is a widely recognized tertiary care center and Level 1 Trauma Center.
