Summary

The Wound Healing Center Advanced Practice Registered Nurse/Physician Assistant provides specialty care and chronic and acute care health care services to patients throughout their lifespan. Patient care is provided in collaboration with a Wound Healing Center physician.

Average Ten Patients Per Day
Monday-Thursday (Eight Hour Patient Care/Two Hour Administrative)

Education

Five to six years of formal training or education beyond the high school level (e.g., Masters Degree or five year program).

Certification, Registration, and Licensure

Wound Certification within three years of the hire date is required.
Licensure required: NH license as APRN or PA and current DEA license.

Experience

Based on the practice setting background, prior wound care specialty and site-specific experience may be required. However, new graduates may be considered with prior wound care experience.

Responsibilities
  • Obtains patient health history and performs physical examination.
  • Diagnoses acute and chronic medical problems within the scope of practice.
  • Provides specialty care, acute and chronic management and patient education according to practice
  • standards.
  • Develop expertise and practice standards specific to specialty programs.
  • Prescribes and manages medications and treatments within the practice standards.
  • Meets productivity standard of the practice/department.
  • Documents care provided in the medical record according to practice/department standards.
  • Orders and interprets diagnostic tests.
  • Performs in-patient care and consults within the scope of practice.
