Job Description: The University of Vermont's Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is seeking a dedicated academic Breast Pathologist for a full-time faculty appointment. This vital role is pivotal in providing expert consultation in breast pathology, with additional subspecialty interests in surgical pathology being highly desirable.  The Department provides additional training and support in other subspecialty areas, which are of interest to faculty candidates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Become a colleague in our department composed of 66 anatomic pathology, clinical pathology, and research faculty colleagues. Work with our current team of 3 Breast Pathologists, which is a subspecialty in the Division of Anatomic Pathology at the University of Vermont Medical Center Provide diagnostic pathology for the patients we serve in Vermont, upstate New York, and New Hampshire, resulting in approximately 45,000 surgical pathology specimens annually. Engage in the education and mentoring of medical students, 16 residents, and fellows in general surgical pathology, dermatopathology, cytopathology, and hematopathology. Pursue scholarly activities and participation in clinical research; applicants should outline their academic work and future plans in their cover letter.

Qualifications:

  • Board eligibility or certification in Anatomic Pathology. Interest and/or experience in breast pathology. Commitment to educational, scholarly, and clinical excellence.
