The Opportunity
  • 12.5 month program designed to train PA's utilizing didactic and clinical experience.
  • 2100 Clinical hours in acute EM care as well as weekly lecture time.
  • Core Emergency Department time will be 10 months (40 weeks).
  • Off service rotations include Internal Medicine, ICU, Bedside POCUS Ultrasound Course, and Specialty rotation tracks.
  • Fellows will attend the Advanced Trauma and Life Support Course (ATLS) at RUHS.
  • In addition to core EM content, focused training will include clinical efficiency, documentation, billing, scribe utilization, and patient throughput.
  • This is a paid fellowship with benefits and malpractice insurance included.

Required Experience and Competencies
  • Graduate of an accredited NP or PA program.
  • PAs must be NCCPA certified by the start of the program. NPs must be certified by either ANCC or AANP by the start of the program.
  • Eligible for and/or possess current CA Medical Board Physician Assistant licensure (must be fully licensed by the state of the program).
  • Eligible for and/or possess current DEA licensure (must be fully licensed by the start of the program)
  • Current certification in ACLS, PALS, and BLS.
  • Previous EMS/ED work experience is highly desirable but not required.

  • AnEmergency Room with operational excellence (nation leading performance in quality programs and efficiency) with a Rapid Medical Examination (RME) process for rapid assessment (patients are seen within 15 minutes of arrival), a robust internal waiting room (no patients return to the lobby), and a Rapid Treatment Area (RTA) for lower acuity patients.

Hourly rate for this role is $21.00.
