The Boston Children's Hospital (BCH) Department of Pediatrics is seeking a pediatric academic physician with an international reputation to lead a large division and research program in the field of Emergency Medicine. The Division of Emergency Medicine at BCH includes clinical care at the BCH main campus as well as network hospitals across Massachusetts. It also conducts high-impact basic, translational, and clinical research in major areas of importance to children with infectious diseases, trauma, and other acute medical problems. The faculty’s research focuses on trauma care and injury prevention, medical education, ultrasound, respiratory diseases, and quality improvement. BCH offers state-of-the-art resources and facilities for conducting research.

The candidate should have an established research program, a demonstrated ability to attract sustained external research funding, and success in mentoring faculty members. The applicant will supervise the provision of clinical care in all programs, as well as the training of students, residents, and fellows in outpatient, inpatient, and research settings.

Suitable candidates will have an MD and preferably also an MPH, PhD, or similar degree. Appointment as Professor of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School will be commensurate with experience, training, and achievement.
