Interventional Pulmonologist
Job Description
The Inova Department of Surgery is seeking board certified Interventional Pulmonologist to join our team! The Inova Interventional Pulmonology Program is an advanced subspecialty of pulmonary medicine focusing on the diagnosis and treatment of chest diseases.
Inova interventional pulmonologists participate in a 100% procedural based practice. Our teams work closely with thoracic surgeons, oncologists and radiation oncologists, offering a multidisciplinary approach and personalized treatment of complex airways and pleural diseases, including lung cancer and non-malignant diseases of the chest.
Few programs across the country integrate interventional pulmonology and thoracic surgery to the degree available on the Inova Fairfax Medical Campus. Our interventional pulmonologists are all fellowship trained and offer a rare combination of talents and work ethic in a coordinated fashion to generate exceptional outcomes for patients, while employing the latest in minimally invasive techniques.
Our nationally recognized program treats more patients than any other program in the Washington, DC, metropolitan area. The team completes initial assessments and evaluation of new patients and provides ongoing monitoring of patient medical condition and provides treatment. Orders prescription medications and diagnostic procedures and authorizes and coordinates all specialty and ancillary services Provides in-service staff development and clinical teaching of trainees rotating through medical practice. Maintains a consultative relationship with nurses, social workers, staff clinic nurse, rehab staff etc. Participates in the development of such programs as preventive health screening, immunization program, professional community outreach, quality assurance, etc.

Requirements:
-Maintenance of ABIM Board certification.
-Maintenance of qualifications for UNOS participation.
-Maintenance of license to practice medicine in Virginia.
-Maintenance of competency in bronchoscopies and other procedures that are clinically indicated.
-Credentialed by the INOVA Health System as an active member of the medical staff with clinical privileges in critical care and pulmonary medicine, to include the care of patients.
