Job Description
Inova Children’s Hospital is seeking candidates for a Pediatric Interventional Cardiologist to join the Inova Children’s Heart Center team. Candidates are preferred to be board certified in Pediatrics and board certified or eligible in Pediatric Cardiology, additionally will have received formal training in pediatric interventional cardiology. Applicants should be eligible for licensure in the State of Virginia.
In addition to serving as an attending physician within the pediatric cardiology division, this individual will also be a member of the teaching faculty within the graduate and undergraduate medical education programs based at Inova. This includes the Inova Children’s Hospital pediatric residency and University of Virginia School of Medicine-Inova Campus. Qualified applicants will be chosen to be the Director of the Pediatric and Adult Congenital Interventional Program at Inova Children’s Hospital.
The Inova Children’s Heart Center has been caring for the children of Northern Virginia and the Greater Washington Region for more than 25 years. Each year, the program is responsible for more than 600 interventional and surgical procedures. In addition to providing care for children with complex congenital anomalies, the program is able to provide a lifetime of care as part of the Inova Heart and Vascular Institute, which includes the Adult Congenital Program. Inova Children’s Hospital consistently outperforms national benchmarks in surgical survival, surgical site infections, and hospital acquired infections.
The Inova Children’s Heart Center is part of both Inova Children’s Hospital and Inova Heart and Vascular Institute. Inova Children’s Hospital comprises 226-beds ofInova Fairfax Hospital, which is the premier quaternary care hospital of the nation’s capital region. Inova Children’s represents more than 40 pediatric subspecialties providing care to hundreds of thousands of children each year.
