Hepatologist

Job Description

The Division of Gastroenterology of Inova Medicine Service Line is seeking a full time clinical hepatologist to provide clinical care for patients with liver disease. The physician will provide inpatient and outpatient hepatology services and perform endoscopic procedures as required. This position will be integral to Inova’s Center for Liver Diseases and in developing disease specific programs throughout the Inova Health System in partnership with the Surgery, Cancer, and Primary Care Service Lines. Inova’s Center for Liver Diseases is internationally known for its clinical expertise and research related to outcomes research in liver diseases and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. The hepatology position will work with other providers from the Division of Gastroenterology, Surgery, Cancer and other service lines to provide multidisciplinary care of patients with liver disease. The individual will also be involved in educational efforts as well as clinical research in liver disease.

Requirements

• Hepatology fellowship or prior experience in liver disease patient management. American Board of Internal Medicine certification in Transplant Hepatology is preferred
• Board Certified or Board Eligible and scheduled to take Board examinations in Gastroenterology
• Active Virginia license or the ability to obtain an unrestricted license to practice Gastroenterology in the state of Virginia
