Cleveland Clinic Department of Kidney Medicine is seeking an outstanding candidate for the position of Medical Director of the Kidney and Kidney/Pancreas Transplant Program at Main Campus in Cleveland, Ohio, an endowed chair position established by the Glickman Family.
The Cleveland Clinic Ohio kidney transplant program, established in 1963, has a track record of delivering excellent patient-centered care with significant expansion, currently performing > 320 kidney transplants per year. With the surgical director, the holder of this position will be responsible for the supervision, oversight and continued growth of the successful kidney and kidney/pancreas transplant within one of the largest transplant centers in the country and contribute to transplant leadership in the Cleveland Clinic global enterprise. The program consists of seven transplant nephrologists and four transplant surgeons working cohesively with a team of certified clinical transplant coordinators, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, dietitians and social workers. The program includes an AST-approved transplant fellowship and a robust research portfolio consisting of NIH research and industry-sponsored trials.
The ideal candidates for this position should have national recognition in the field, leadership or national committee experience, and demonstrate a track record of excellence in clinical care, communication and institutional collaboration. Prior experience in translational, clinical or outcomes research is desirable.
The transplant center is certified by Medicare and the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) to transplant kidney for adults. Faculty appointment at a rank commensurate with experience is available at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University.
