The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Baylor College of Medicine is seeking a Vice Chair of Education. Candidates must be board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and currently Associate Professor or Professor. The competitive salary and benefits package is commensurate with academic rank and experience.
In partnership with the Chair of OBGYN and institutional leaders, the VC will provide oversight and leadership for all levels of education in the department, including undergraduate medical education, resident training, oversight of eight fellowship programs, and continuing medical education. The Department supports an ACGME residency program and fellowships in maternal-fetal medicine, reproductive endocrinology, and infertility, minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, pediatric and adolescent gynecology, women’s mental health, Ob hospitalist medicine, perinatal surgery, and global women’s health. We train approximately 70 post-graduates at any given time.
Together with the BCM Department of Education, Innovation, and Technology, develop, implement, and evaluate new education programs and curriculum and promote scholarship in medical education. Provide faculty development support and mentoring to faculty who have a specific interest in medical education and who are career educators. The position reports directly to the Chairman of the BCM Ob/Gyn Department and is expected to be 50% clinical, and 50% education.

Minimum Qualifications: Associate or Full Professor level; Educational administrative experience (program director, associate program director, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications: Ten years of post-residency experience; Formal training in education (Masters preferred)

About Texas Children’s Pavilion for Women
Texas Children’s Pavilion for Women is recognized as a level IV maternal care facility by the state of Texas, providing the highest level of comprehensive care for pregnant and postpartum patients, from lowrisk cases to the most complex medical, surgical and obstetrical conditions that present a higher risk of maternal morbidity or mortality. In 2019 the Pavilion opened one of the nation’s first maternal intensive care units, staffed 24/7 by a team of Baylor faculty who specializes in pulmonary critical care, advanced cardiovascular life support, and maternal-fetal issues. The hospital is also home to a nationally recognized placenta accreta spectrum program and has earned accreditation as a Center of Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecology.
