Job Description
The Inova Fairfax Medical Campus (IFMC) is recruiting a BE/ BC Neurocritical Care Intensivist to join our rapidly expanding team in the Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit (NSICU).
Inova is Northern Virginia’s leading nonprofit healthcare provider, recognized in 2019 by U.S. News & World Report which named Inova Fairfax Hospital the #1 hospital in the Washington, DC region. Our mission is to provide world-class healthcare - every time, every touch - to each person in every community we have the privilege to serve. Inova’s 18,000 team members serve more than 2 million individuals annually through an integrated network of hospitals, primary and specialty care practices, emergency and urgent care centers, outpatient services and destination institutes. Inova Fairfax Medical Campus (IFMC) is a 919-bed, Level 1 Trauma Center, tertiary care facility, and the flagship hospital of the Inova Health System.
The prospective candidate will join a collaborative team of more than 30 specialized intensivists, including currently seven neurointensivists in the Medical Critical Care Service at IFMC. The incoming neurointensivist, along with critical care advance practice providers (PA/NP), will primarily cover an 18-bed state-of-the-art closed NSICU and work closely with neurosurgeons, interventional neuroradiologists, and vascular and general neurologists. We also provide neurocritical care consultations and support throughout the Inova Health System. Post-ICU care is supported by a hospitalist team, including a subspecialty hospitalist service for neurologic diseases and injuries.
Prospective MD/DO candidate should have finished ACGME residency training in Neurology, Emergency Medicine, Anesthesiology, Surgery, or Internal Medicine and should have completed an ACGME/UCNS fellowship in Neurocritical Care. Additional training or Board Certification is not required but would be preferred. Incoming neurointensivists shall have a current Virginia medical license and DEA before employment.
IFMC offers a competitive salary, benefits, and bonus structure along with a compensation package that includes medical, dental, vision and life insurance, paid relocation, CME and tuition reimbursement, and defined contribution retirement plans.
Requirements:
• MD or DO Degree
• Completed ACGME residency training and subsequent fellowship with ABMS board certification in critical care (and neuro-critical care for our neuro-intensive care unit)
• Current Virginia medical license and DEA
• Ability to achieve full and unrestricted hospital privileges at all Inova Hospitals
• High-energy, able to work with advanced tertiary team
Preferred
• 3+ years of experience as an attending physician at large, tertiary care hospital
* IFMC is an EO/AAE. All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, color, religion, national origin, disability, protected Veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law or policy.
** J-1 Visa sponsorship not available
