Division Chief of Neurosurgery - Phoenix Children's

Phoenix Children’s is seeking a full-time Division Chief to lead the Division of Neurosurgery within Barrow Neurological Institute, one of six Centers of Excellence, at Phoenix Children’s. Barrow Neurological Institute at Phoenix Children’s comprises five divisions that integrate and coordinate care for children with neurological and behavioral disorders that strive to improve the healthcare and quality of life for children and adolescents with complex emotional, behavioral, and medical needs. This appointment will include academic affiliation at Mayo Clinic Arizona, University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix, and Creighton Medical School.

This is a unique role for a gifted clinical and academic pediatric neurosurgeon who has a solid vision for teaching, clinical and research program development and who appreciates the significance of collegial decision-making in an interdisciplinary structure. This position represents a distinctive role for a forward-focused leader who will provide strategic direction and administrative leadership in a Division focused on improving neurocognitive, social, and economic outcomes for our pediatric patients while effectively collaborating with partners in behavioral medicine services and divisions within Barrow at Phoenix Children’s. 

In addition to the characteristics noted above, applicants must have an MD or MD/PhD degree and be board-certified in neurosurgery and pediatric neurosurgery. They must provide documentation of achieved accomplishments, and demonstrated proof of mentorship, leadership, and scholarship in neurosurgery. The successful candidate must possess effective interpersonal, collaborative and communication skills. It is expected that the candidate will be eligible for academic appointment at the Associate Professor or Professor level of our affiliated medical schools.
