Job Description
The APP Manager, MSK with the MSK service line is a System-wide role that exists only for Inova Service Lines and will be responsible for the overall management and coordination of APPs within the service line. The APP Manager serves as the direct supervisor for APP Leads in a Service Line. Reporting Relationship • Straight line reporting to Executive APP Director • Dotted line reporting to collaborating Service Line physicians (e.g., Section/Division Chief or Service Line President)

Graduate of accredited PA or NP program
Current board certification and license to practice in Virginia
Specialty trained, where appropriate
Minimum of 5 years experience as an APP

Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for overall APP strategy and staffing within the Service Line
- Interviews and hires candidates for APP positions
- Provides coaching for APPs within the Service Line, including line APPs and direct report APP leads
- Works collaboratively with HR on personnel issues
- Monitors APP performance and involves HR and Legal as needed
- Develops and implements PIP plans as needed
- Ensures yearly evaluations are appropriately accomplished and communicated in a timely manner
- Responsible for ensuring OPPE/FPPE is completed as required
- Identifies, develops and implements strategic APP-related initiatives throughout the Service Line
- Works with Service Line leadership to ensure fiscal responsibility and budget management are maintained
- Communicates System/ Service Line initiatives and budget impact to the teams effectively
- Ensures APPs within the Service Line have appropriate and current practice agreements in place
- Develops and updates practice agreements and delineation of privileges documents as needed.
- Assesses APP educational needs on an ongoing basis
- Develops and supports a formal onboarding process for APPs within the Service Line
- Develops ongoing structured educational programs for APPs
- Tracks progress and reports status of initiatives
- Develops and implements crisis plans
- Holds regular meetings with APP Leads to ensure ongoing communication and prompt identification of opportunities
- Anticipates barriers and works with APPs and leaders to identify solutions.
- Positively communicates change
- Ensures appropriate and efficient APP practice and utilization
- Constantly strives for process and quality improvement
- Promotes psychological safety among all APPs
