The Andrews Research and Education Foundation (AREF)  Comprehensive Hip Fellowship provides high volume, specialized orthopaedic surgical training in all aspects of the diagnosis and treatment of the hip. The Fellow will be under the direction of a comprehensive hip specialist and his team throughout the 12-month program. The Fellow will become adept at all surgeries in the hip including anterior total hip arthroplasty, revision total hip arthroplasty; as well as open and arthroscopic hip preservation, peritrochanteric, posterior hip, and SI fusion. Procedures include primary and revision hip arthroscopy with labral and capsular reconstruction, osteotomies, abductor repair, hamstring repair, and ischiofemoral impingement (IFI).

The program boasts a robust and well-established orthopaedic research program, onsite Surgical Skills Lab, Regenerative Medicine Center, and Biomechanics Lab.

The Fellow can expect very minimal night or weekend call, allowing for a focused approach to the program. Applications are now being taken for August 2023 and 2024. Applications for 2025 will begin this fall. Fellows must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship and must have completed an ACGME-accredited, U.S.-based Orthopaedic Surgery residency.
