Job Description

As an APNTIP Program Manager, you will fulfill the accreditation elements of program leadership, organizational enculturation, development and design, practice based learning, nursing professional development support and quality outcomes. To help achieve our mission, you will provide patient centered care that is compassionate, valued, appropriate and effective for the treatment of both common and uncommon health conditions and the promotion of health. Taking ownership for the overall coordination, management, development and evaluation of the program is expected. You will provide curriculum, oversight of all experiential components and the ongoing development and implementation of innovative strategies for retention of APNs across the system.

Job Responsibilities

  • Participates in research activities related to the program or department. Gathers essential and accurate information about patients and their conditions through review of records, history-taking, physical examination and assessment.
  • Develops and implements patient management plans in consultation with the interdisciplinary team. Counsels and educates patients and families to empower them to participate in their care.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of established and evolving bio-psycho-social, clinical, epidemiological and nursing sciences for the provision of evidence-based patient care. Advocates for quality patient care and optimal patient care systems.
  • Demonstrates qualities required to sustain lifelong growth as healthcare professional and leader. Functions as a liaison between disciplines and departments to assure a smooth coordination of program elements.
  • Develops exceptional service to our internal and external customers/stakeholders by maximizing communication and partnering.
  • Ensures APNTIP participants learning and support needs are met through such actions as evaluating aggregate evaluation results, stakeholder feedback and outcome review.
  • Develops an advisory council for ongoing programming development. Develops, implements, evaluates and improves on an ongoing basis the APNTIP Program curriculum.
  • Coaches APNs through goal setting, challenging realities, skill development and experiential programming. Serves as a point of reference for all APNs for ongoing development and support. Assumes additional administrative or supervisory responsibilities as requested.

Additional Requirements
  • Nurse Practitioner with at least 5 years of experience
  • BLS
  • NP licensure in the state of Virginia
