The Division of General Surgery at the University of Vermont College of Medicine, and its affiliated medical center, the University of Vermont Medical Center is seeking a BC/BE General Surgeon to join the full-time faculty. Successful candidates will be appointed at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor/Professor in the Clinical Scholar Pathway. Candidates must be board certified in General Surgery or board eligible with plans for certification and be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Vermont and eligible to work in the United States. Duties include educational responsibilities for medical students and general surgery residents from UVM. This is a full-time, 12-month, salaried position with attending staff privileges at the University of Vermont Medical Center. The position entails providing general surgical services to the patient population served by our partner community medical centers, Central Vermont Medical Center (CVMC) and Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital (CVPH).

Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin, VT, serves approximately 26,000 patients per year. CVMC has a reputation of clinical excellence with a staff that is deeply rooted in the community. CVMC is a training site for both LCOM medical students and UVMMC residents. The surrounding region offers easy access to a number of outdoor activities, such as mountain biking, downhill and cross-country skiing, hunting, fishing and hiking. Our location also puts us 30 minutes from Stowe and 45 minutes to Burlington home to The University of Vermont as well as 3 hours from Boston and 2.5 hours from Montreal. We are a safe community with strong school systems. 

Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital in Plattsburgh, NY, is the second-largest hospital in Network and a regional referral hospital. CVPH serves as an ACS Level 3 trauma center and a receiving facility for many patients in upstate New York. Plattsburgh offers a family-oriented community on Lake Champlain, near the Adirondack Mountains, Olympic-Lake Placid region, Montreal and Burlington, VT. Practice in a warm and friendly environment that sits on a plush 45-acre campus complete with ponds and walking paths.
