Physician Scientist – Associate Professor/Professor to serve as Director for A Program for the Inherited Cardiovascular Diseases

The Department of Medicine at Rutgers, New Jersey Medical School, is recruiting a Physician Scientist at the Associate Professor/Professor level to serve as the Director for a Program for the Inherited Cardiovascular Diseases. The successful candidate will have established clinical and research programs and will provide oversight and leadership in the formation stages of this important new multi-disciplinary initiative.

The Program for the Inherited Cardiovascular Diseases will strive to improve our scientific understanding, clinical identification, and treatment of cardiovascular diseases caused by genetic abnormalities. The Program will take an interdisciplinary programmatic approach across our health care system and include practitioners from Cardiology, Cardiac Surgery, Radiology, Pediatrics, Med/Peds, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Genetics, Cell Biology and Molecular Medicine, and other programs to deliver innovative, world class, team-based care to patients with these genetic diseases and to advance the understanding of these diseases through basic and translational research. Educational, research, and clinical responsibilities will be tailored to the successful candidate’s interests and experience. Resources for recruitment and startup funds are included in this initiative.
