The Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition

The Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition in the Department of Pediatrics at Stanford University seeks applications for a Pediatric Gastroenterologist to join a rapidly growing Division. The successful candidate will have an academic appointment at the Clinical Assistant, Clinical Associate, or Full Clinical Professor rank in the Clinician Educator line at Stanford University School of Medicine.

The major criterion for appointment, reappointment and promotion for Clinician Educators is excellence in the overall mix of clinical care and clinical teaching appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill.

Faculty rank will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.

Your responsibilities and requirements for success in this position:

A successful candidate must be able to thrive as a member of a team of physician specialists and advanced practice providers with diverse areas of expertise. The successful applicant should be comfortable with and/or open to inpatient, outpatient and GI procedures and interventions.

A dedicated candidate will be working among one of the leading gastroenterology programs in the country, with unique research and innovation opportunities afforded by the world-renowned Stanford Medicine campus.

The successful candidate will participate in the care and management of children with a broad range of gastrointestinal disorders. The successful candidate will be involved in formal and informal teaching of pediatric residents, pediatric gastroenterology fellows, residents and fellows in other specialties, medical students, and other graduate students. The successful applicant should have an M.D., D.O. (or MD/DO/Ph.D or equivalent), and board certification (or eligible) in Pediatrics with subspecialty training in Gastroenterology. The selected candidate will join twenty-two faculty members and should hold a medical degree and valid license, certification or eligibility in American Board of Pediatrics in Pediatric Gastroenterology subspecialty.

About the Pediatric Gastroenterology Program at Stanford:
The Pediatric Gastroenterology Program at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital has grown dramatically over the past six years and is currently ranked in the top 15 programs nationally by U.S. News and World Report. Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital has among the nation’s largest pediatric solid organ transplant programs and is home to a robust ACGME accredited fellowship program in pediatric gastroenterology, with three fellows per year and an additional hepatology transplant fellowship. Internationally recognized for its expertise in gastroenterology and nutrition, the Division’s clinical program cares for more than 10,000 patients each year. It has had a 100% growth in faculty over the last 4 years, a generous donor gift for IBD and Celiac programs which benefits the entire operations, several newer programs launched, and an incredible culture of mutual respect.

The expected base pay range for this position is:

Clinical Assistant: $240,000-258,000
Clinical Associate: $273,000-291,000
Clinical Professor: $311,000-371,000

This pay range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. It may not include all components of faculty compensation or pay from participation in departmental incentive compensation programs. Stanford University has provided a pay range representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for the position.
