BURLINGTON, VERMONT (USA). The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine of The Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine at the University of Vermont (UVM) is seeking an academic surgical pathologist for a full-time faculty appointment on the Clinical Scholar Pathway (non-tenure) at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor academic rank. Board eligibility or certification in Anatomic Pathology is required. The candidate must possess interest and/or experience in breast pathology and join our subspecialty team serving as an expert consultant. Subspecialty interest in additional areas of surgical pathology, to include pulmonary/thoracic, and renal pathology is highly desired, and additional training and support in these areas would be provided. Board certification and interest in Cytopathology is a plus. The candidate will join our 24 pathology colleagues in the Division of Anatomic Pathology at the University of Vermont Medical Center, which is the academic hospital in the UVM Health Network. The department serves as a regional reference laboratory for Vermont, upstate New York, and upstate New Hampshire, and reviews approximately 45,000 surgical pathology specimens annually. The candidate should be committed to the education of medical students, residents, and surgical pathology and cytopathology fellows. The candidate is expected to pursue scholarly activities and/or clinical research and should provide a description of their academic work and future plans in their cover letter.
